Critical Walks. Organised by GECU in collaboration with Madrid al Límite and Todo por la Praxis. In November 2025, we began a series of informative walks in which, connecting research carried out by academia and social movements, we tour urban environments undergoing transformation to reflect and debate on what is happening in our cities.

To kick off this activity, we have so far conducted three walks in three neighbourhoods in conflict, where neoliberal policies and the impact of platforms are producing dynamics of inequality, and, in turn, responses are being articulated by different collectives. We have therefore focused on three issues: how vulture funds operate and territorialise themselves in a new cycle of housing finance through the case of Puerta del Ángel; how real estate speculation intersects with the growing cultural fabric of Carabanchel; and what is the present, past and future of the urban development planned for Cinco Torres and Madrid Nuevo Norte.
